In the Chinese shadow shows the figures are not seen directly but, as the name suggests, only their SHADOWS appear. The SPECTATOR stands in front of a semi-transparent white screen behind which the actors maneuver the figures and recite the various parts.
A powerful light source projects the shadows directly on the screen with the effect of magnifying them and making the figures animated. Here's how our GEISHA is born.
